Keanu Reeves’ residence in Los Angeles was reportedly burglarized on Wednesday night. At the time, the 59-year-old ‘John Wick’ actor was not home. According to TMZ, multiple men wearing ski masks broke in, stole a firearm, and escaped before the arrival of the police. The LAPD responded around 7:00 pm to an anonymous tip about a potential intruder at Reeves’ house, which had a similar incident in 2014. Initially, no evidence of trespassing was found by officers. However, around 1:00 am, an alarm activation led police to discover security footage showing masked individuals breaking in through a window.
According to reports, the burglars made off with a firearm in their quick escape. Investigators are now examining footage from both Reeves’ home and the surrounding area for more leads. TMZ sources indicate that police are exploring whether the initial call to authorities was made by someone surveying the house. Earlier this year, Reeves obtained a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker who had reportedly appeared at his residence.
The actor, owner of a $5.6 million, 5,607-square-foot estate in the Hollywood Hills, employed a security firm to investigate Bryan Dixon, 39. Dixon repeatedly appeared at Reeves’ property, with security footage documenting six trespassing incidents from November 5 to January 20. On November 5, Dixon allegedly entered through a side gate and was found asleep in the backyard, before being removed from the premises.
Security footage captured the individual peering over walls, smoking in the garden, and walking along an outdoor terrace. He returned the following morning, leaving behind a backpack deemed ‘suspicious and alarming.’ This backpack contained a DNA testing kit, purportedly intended for a delusional attempt to prove a blood relation to Reeves. Additionally, Reeves’ Los Angeles home was previously targeted by intruders in two separate incidents in 2014.
In a past incident, a female intruder reportedly entered Reeves’ home, where she was found by a cleaning crew after disrobing and jumping into the pool. Reeves was not on the property at the time. The police were called to the scene and escorted the woman away. She reportedly underwent a mental evaluation following the incident. This event occurred just two days after Reeves encountered another woman in his library.
TMZ reports that the second intrusion into Reeves’ estate occurred after a cleaning company accidentally left the front gate open. The ‘Speed’ actor was at home and reportedly awakened around 4am by noises from his library. Investigating the disturbance, he allegedly encountered a woman in her mid-40s who had entered the property and was sitting in his chair.
The woman involved in the library incident was not arrested; instead, she was taken to a medical facility for evaluation. In another incident in 2015, police investigated a man who appeared at Reeves’ home and left a FedEx envelope in his mailbox. According to reports, the envelope contained a phone number and a message stating, “I will call the cell provided tomorrow. We need to meet as I have already started building the new world. #masterbuilder.
