We saw The Young and the Restless’ Hilary die. We saw the tears that Devon shed. We felt the tears that we cried. Heck, we even put her demise on our list of daytime’s saddest ever. And yet heaven might soon be missing an angel (albeit one with a tarnished halo). “You never know,” Mishael Morgan tells Soaps.com. “Anything might happen. Hilary might just suddenly return out of nowhere!”
But… but how? The semi-reformed scheme queen wasn’t just passed away, she was passed all the way away — to the point that Devon was having visions of her. Not to worry. The Emmy winner has that all worked out in her head. “She totally survived,” Morgan says. “She was just faking her death… or someone else faked her death for some reason or other and then whisked her away from the hospital without Devon knowing.”
Which sounds crazy, sure. But no nuttier than, say, Jordan waiting decades to exact her revenge on the Newmans or Cameron thinking that threatening to blow up Faith would make Sharon swoon.
At any rate, it’s nice to be reassured that even as the fan favorite makes inroads in primetime, she hasn’t forgotten her daytime roots. “Young & Restless is always on my radar,” Morgan says.
In fact, Hilary wouldn’t even have to rise from the dead for her portrayer to return to Genoa City. She does, after all, have a twin sister with a lot of unfinished business. “There’s so much more to explore where Amanda and her family is concerned,” Morgan points out. “So who knows what will happen?”
