Many people suffer from epidermoid cysts, and most of them mistake these cysts for sebaceous cysts, which is a big mistake. The Mayo Clinic asserts that true sebaceous cysts are actually very rare and originate from the sebaceous glands that lubricate hair and skin. An epidermoid cyst is a benign cyst typically found on the skin.
The cyst develops from ectodermal tissue. Histologically, it is made up of a thin layer of squamous epithelium. An epidermoid cyst (sebaceous cyst) is a sac filled with a cheese-like material. It forms when skin cells deposit keratin beneath the skin. The lumps are usually painless, mobile, and lie under the skin. They can become inflamed and infected. They are found all over the body, including the scrotum. A sebaceous cyst is a type of cyst that forms in the epidermis, the outer layer of the skin.
Epidermoid cysts form when a sebaceous gland, a gland that produces sebum in the skin, becomes blocked. Generally, epidermoid cysts are not painful and do not require specific treatment. However, if they become infected, they must be removed and many people turn to surgery. Nevertheless, it’s good to know that there are also other natural methods that can help you get rid of these cysts immediately.
Natural Remedies for Removing Epidermoid Cysts
Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid, which is very effective against cysts. Specifically, it protects the skin from bacteria and kills the infection brought by the cyst. You just need to put apple cider vinegar on a gauze and then dab the area with the cyst. Repeat the process daily for a week until the cyst forms a crust. Then remove the crust, and you will notice that the cyst starts to disappear. Be sure to keep the area clean until you get rid of the cyst.
Dandelion. Make a mixture of dandelion and viola (or the plant called “three spotted brothers”) and boil it in water for 45 minutes. Then strain the liquid and drink it four times a day for 10 days. It can also be applied directly to the cyst.
Epsom Salt. It’s recommended to put Epsom salt in the bathtub and then soak in the warm water. Not only will you relax, but the salt reduces swelling and heals.
Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is an excellent remedy for various skin conditions due to its healing properties. You just need to take Aloe Vera sap and apply it to the cyst. It also helps to start drinking Aloe Vera juice.
Milk. Milk is also an excellent remedy for cysts. Soak a tea bag in milk and then apply it to the cyst, leaving it overnight. Repeat until the cyst starts to heal.
Honey. Make a paste of honey, banana, and wheatgrass and apply it to the affected area. Then cover with a gauze and leave overnight. Repeat the process until you see results.
Castor Oil. Warm up a little castor oil and apply it to the cyst area. Then cover with a piece of gauze moistened with warm water and leave overnight. The cyst will visibly reduce in size.
It’s important not to worry if you have such cysts, as you can easily get rid of them. Only in cases where they become infected, it is recommended to seek a doctor’s opinion.
