Anne Hathaway has enjoyed incredible success, and it might surprise some to learn she almost quit acting. However, getting a role on Brokeback Mountain with Heath Ledger changed her career path.
Hathaway always manages a fresh-faced look, and seems ageless, which makes her the perfect Global Ambassador for Shiseido’s Vital Perfection skincare line. Excited about her role as Global Ambassador, one thing that attracted her to the Japanese skincare company was their tagline, “Potential has no age.”
While Hathaway was at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, she decided to take a selfie with no makeup. Several fans seemed impressed with her seemingly perfect skin. “She doesn’t age. like at all,” one concluded. “You never get old?” Another commented. Doctors Think Botox And Other Surgeries May Have Taken Place For Anne Hathaway
When Anne Hathaway was spotted at the Sundance Film Festival and also at Paris fashion week in 2023, the stunning star appeared more radiant than ever, and her face looked slimmer. This led to speculation that Hathaway possibly had certain procedures done to enhance her features, including her already-impeccable skin.
One board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Jaimie Glick, told The New York Post that “Hathaway’s glabellar lines – the vertical lines between the brows – are still lightly visible, so there’s a chance she could have had ‘baby botox,’ which softens lines without totally blunting them.”
Glick continued, “It would keep her natural look. Her complexion is brightened, so I would say she had some mild to moderate resurfacing procedure like a fraxel [laser].” A laser procedure like a fraxel treatment improves a person’s complexion. Glick said about Hathaway, “Her skin looks very bright and beautiful.”
Double board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer stated, “We are deep into laser season right now. You can’t do it when you are out in the sun.” Because her face had a slimmer appearance, some also wondered if Hathaway might have had another procedure known as buccal fat removal. This “involves surgically removing the fat between the cheekbones and jawbones, to highlight one’s facial bone structure.”
Speaking about cosmetic surgery in 2008, Hathaway made comments opposing it. She also said there was one facial feature she initially thought needed improvement: her nose. Now she believes it has been an asset to her career, and she has credited her imperfect nose for landing her drastically different roles.
“When I was growing up I wanted a nose job because I didn’t think my nose was good. And my nose is now, I think, what lets me change my face a lot. Your face needs to have character if you’re an actor – otherwise you’re just kind of a face. You’re not really a person or a personality,” the Interstellar actor said.

“At least, that’s what they told me when they charged 400 dollars for it!” Hathaway joked. According to Page Six, Su-Man, Hathaway’s facialist, discussed Hathaway’s skincare routine with Net-a-Porter. “Anne is incredibly disciplined when it comes to her skin.”
Hathaway’s routine includes a scrub, toner, serum, face masks (which Hathaway uses in the morning instead of at night) and facial massages. In an interview with Popspoken, Hathaway discussed her “personal philosophy on beauty” and “how she maintains healthy and radiant skin”. The Alice in Wonderland actor said, “Drinking water and staying hydrated is so important. I believe my skin looks its best when it is nourished. Which starts from within.”
She continued, “Sunscreen is also important – I love spending time outdoors but try to avoid any excessive exposure to the sun.” The Rachel Getting Married actor was also asked about her skincare routine, and said, “I have found that a great quality moisturizer is crucial.”
The versatile actor seems to have stopped aging altogether, like some other Hollywood stars, and her youthful, healthy glow makes Hathaway an ideal choice to be global ambassador for a skincare line.
