Inter Miami have signed Argentina U23 star midfielder Federico Redondo.
On Friday, the club announced the 21-year-old’s signing with a reported $8million fee. Redondo signed with the Herons through the 2027 season with a club option for 2028.
‘We’re pleased to bring an exciting young midfielder like Federico to Inter Miami,’ Chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson in the club’s announcement.
‘He’s a very promising player who is sharp with the ball at his feet, and shows awareness out of possession. We believe in his potential, but also feel he will immediately be a strong addition to our squad as we look to build on our successes in 2024.’
With Redondo qualifying as a U22 signing, the club is allowed to bring him onboard him with a reduced hit of $200,000 on their salary budget. He replaces fellow U22 initiative player Facundo Farias who suffered a season-ending ACL injury in preseason.
