Erling Haaland struck twice and assisted another to inspire City to a 3-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Pep Guardiola’s men started well and took the lead shortly before the half-hour mark, with Haaland coolly stroking in from the penalty spot after Rasmus Hojlund’s foul on Rodrigo inside the box.
With the last action of the first 45 minutes, Haaland was denied a second goal, with Andre Onana diving to make a spectacular save from a close-range header.
Our talisman was not to be denied again after the interval, as he connected with Bernardo Silva’s accurate cross to head beyond the sprawling Onana just four minutes after the break.
With 20 minutes remaining, the lively Jack Grealish slipped Haaland through on goal, but Onana stood firm to block the striker’s chipped effort to deny him a hat-trick.
Haaland then turned provider, putting the ball on a plate for Phil Foden to tap into an empty net with ten minutes left to play.
We remained in control of possession and saw out the remainder of the clash in professional fashion to claim all three points.
