Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s dad expressed doubts about her ‘spontaneous’ marriage to Ryan Scott Anderson before split

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s father isn’t shocked over her reported split from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson.

In a December 2023 interview with People ahead of his daughter’s release from prison, Rod Blanchard admitted he wasn’t so sure her and Anderon’s union would last.

“Personally, I give it a 50/50 chance that it’s going to work,” he told the publication. “She can be spontaneous and make a quick decision and just jump into things without thinking.”

He theorized the 32-year-old ex-con would fare best if she took things slowly as she adjusted to life outside her prison cell, including her relationship with Anderson.

“I wish she would have came home here and when her being on parole was over, live with him, just live with him, learn him,” he explained.

“She’s grown, and she was told what to do all her life. We wish she wouldn’t have, but like I told her, if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be there to help pick up the pieces.”

“I really do hope it does work out,” he added. “Ryan’s a great guy. He loves her for all the right reasons.”

Gypsy reportedly announced her separation from Anderson on her private Facebook page on Thursday.Instagram/@gypsyrose_a_blanchard“I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am,” she explained.Instagram/Gypsy-Rose Blanchard-Anderson

The couple reportedly called it quits about three months after the special education teacher picked Gypsy up from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri when she was released.

“People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou,” she reportedly wrote on Facebook Thursday.

After thanking her family and friends for their “support,” she concluded, “I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

The pair met in 2020 and tied the knot in 2022 when Gypsy was still in prison for the 2015 murder of her mom.Instagram/Gypsy-Rose Blanchard-AndersonAnderson picked Gypsy up from the Chillicothe Correctional Center when she was released in December 2023.TheImageDirect.com

The estranged couple met in 2020 after Anderson sent her a letter while she was serving her 10-year sentence for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. They tied the knot in 2022.

The pair seemed happy in January at Lifetime’s “Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard” premiere, where they make their red carpet debut.

Ahead of their big night, Gypsy made headlines for bragging about their 𝑠e𝑥 life to get back at haters.

“Ryan, don’t listen to the haters. I love you, and you love me,” she wrote in an Instagram comment on his page. “We do not owe anyone anything. Our family is who matters. … I love you.”

“besides,” she playfully continued, “they [are] jealous because you are rocking my world every night…yeah I said it, the D is fire.”

Gypsy served seven years of her sentence for plotting her mother’s 2015 murder with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

The star, who recently deleted her public social media accounts, was verbally, mentally and physically abused by her mom throughout her entire childhood.

Dee Dee suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which caused her to seek sympathy from others by pretending Gypsy had cancer, muscular dystrophy and more.

Gypsy’s troubling story inspired the HBO documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest” and the hit Hulu series “The Act.”
