Anthony Joshua, Conor McGregor, and the athletic world rallied around Francis Ngannou after the UFC champion-turned boxer announced the death of his 15-month-old son Kobe.

Anthony Joshua and Conor McGregor led the tributes to Francis Ngannou after the UFC fighter-turned-boxer revealed the death of his 15-month-old son.

Ngannou, who lost to Joshua in one of the biggest heavyweight fights of all time just weeks ago, has been in sorrow on social media since Kobe’s death was announced.

‘Too soon to leave, but he’s gone,’ one of his posts stated. ‘My little boy, mate, and lover, Kobe, was full of life and joy. He now lies motionless. I called his name repeatedly, but he didn’t react.

‘I was my best self next to him, and now I have no idea who I am. Life is so cruel to strike us where it hurts the most. How do you deal with such a situation? How can you live with it? Please assist me if you have any ideas since I honestly don’t know what to do or how to deal with this.’

In reaction, the MMA and boxing communities have extended their well wishes, with Joshua, a father of one, resorting to social media to do so.
