Before Welcome 2 Collegrove was released, 2 Chainz chopped it up with Zane Lowe for an interview on Apple Music, which you can watch below.
Because GOAT Lil Wayne’s influence is so great, it puts 2 Chainz under pressure to work with him: ‘I can’t keep up with him’
In their virtual conversation, Tity Boi discussed working with the “A Milli” producer Bangladesh on “Presha“, how his collaboration album with Lil Wayne came together, how the both of them have found the time to work on it, and having to upgrade his bars to another level just to keep up with Weezy.
“I think me and him just have that chemistry. We enjoy working with each other a lot, and it’s a lot of respect there. And as I always sаy, steel sharpens steel.
So, it’s always that little piece of anxiety of knowing that this verse has to be better than the last one. I think it’s healthy. I think competition is healthy in any and everything that we do.”
Chainz also talked about speaking sports with Tunechi, what the differences are with Welcome 2 Collegrove and the 2016 ColleGrove project, and still being hungry and passionate with rap music!
