Liverpool have officially unveiled a special edition LeBron James collection after the basketball icon became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
The Premier League giants and James have both teased the collection, but it only seemed fitting that it was officially released just 24 hours after the Lakers star surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing NBA record.
Billionaire James first bought a two per cent stake in Liverpool in 2011 for £4.7million with business partner Maverick Carter, the same year FSG bought Liverpool for £300m.
The four-time NBA champion converted his stake in Liverpool to a one per cent share in FSG’s global empire in March 2021 following the club’s 2019 Champions League triumph and Premier League title win a year later.
Liverpool’s owners put the club up for sale for £2.7billion last November, although they are reportedly yet to receive any offers.

In June 2022, Forbes named James as the first active NBA player to become a billionaire with his stake in FSG worth £74m.
The LFC X LeBron collection features both a fashion and footwear range which the club says ’embodies a long-standing connection between two global sporting icons, celebrating our shared values and illustrious histories’.
Liverpool have released photos of James wearing a special jersey, which has his logo in the centre and is black with red pin stripes.
There are also a variety of vests, shorts, jumpers, shoes, hoodies and t-shirts which are modelled by the likes of Jordan Henderson, Alisson, Andy Robertson and Fabio Carvalho.
Liverpool and Nike logos are also featured, while the letters YNWA (You’ll Never Walk Alone) are included as part of of the design.
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said back in November 2021 that the Premier League team would release ‘seven or eight items’ in a range of sportswear with the Lakers star that would ‘rival the connection that Michael Jordan has with Nike’.
Jordan’s historic deal with Nike, which began with the launch of Air Jordans in 1985, has continued to dominate the market 38 years later.
