Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Andy Serkis are returning to Middle-earth! Just announced today, a new film set in the Lord of the Rings universe will release in 2026 – Hunt for Gollum. Serkis will return to play Gollum as well as direct. Jackson, Walsh, & Boyens are producing. The script is currently being worked on by Walsh and Boyens as well as War of the Rohirrim writing duo Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou.
