Are you familiar with the English Premier League? Do you call the sport football or are you more of a soccer type of person? If finding a team to root for on that next trip across the pond is an issue, NBA superstar, Lebron James might be able to convince you. Rocking the new fit, as he walked into Crypto.com Arena before his game for the Los Angeles Lakers, the newly announced NBA All Star Game captain unveiled a collaborative jersey with soccer giant Liverpool Football Club.
James, who has been an owner of a minority stake in Liverpool since 2011 previously hinted at a partnership in 2020, but this time it was the real deal. The Nike Liverpool x LeBron James jersey is predominantly black, subtle stripe patterns —featuring Liverpool’s iconic “You’ll Never Walk Alone” slogan. Both the team and Lebron’s logo are prominently displayed. The special edition shirt is not available for sale but fans will certainly be waiting for its arrival to the public. Liverpool F.C. is one the most successful and popular soccer teams in the world and a fashion based partnership with James continues to elevate their brand on American soil.
The business dealings don’t stop there, as new images have been revealed of a signature shoe. The kicks feature the classic Liverpool Red with a slick crimson colorway and double stacked red and black swoosh. Currently set to release via Nike SNKRS on February 9th, these will definitely be a tough one to get. Lebron was also seen wearing a fresh pair of teal Nike Air Max 1 sneakers. The colors on these also match jerseys regularly worn by the Liverpool F.C squad. These kicks look to potentially be a collaboration in the making as well.
The jersey will likely not be seen on the field, but could one day be something you choose to wear to a game. The Premier League doesn’t end until late May, so if you have plans of heading to England to watch a match, Liverpool would not be a bad choice. Their home stadium known as Anfield is an electrifying atmosphere that Lebron himself has experienced. Both Lebron’s Lakers and Liverpool F.C. will have a tough time hoisting a championship trophy this year, but they are winning with this collaboration off the court and field. Personally, I root for another team by the name of Arsenal F.C., but even I can appreciate a dope fit like this.
