She enjoyed a luxury vacation in Italy to celebrate her 27th birthday in July.

And now Selena Gomez is back in Los Angeles and working on new music.

The singer and actress posted a series of black and white images to her Instagram on Thursday showing her in a recording studio.

The Heart Wants What It Wants hitmaker wears a baggy striped shirt in the  photos and is seen writing in a notebook.

She also flashes the peace sign for the camera as another young woman works away beside her.

A source close to the pop star told Entertainment Tonight recently that she plans to release some new tracks this year.

‘The new music is going to be a different side of Selena and very personal,’ the source said. ‘Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.’

Gomez, who underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 related to her lupus, has been focusing on her health and mental well-being.

And for that reason her work has been taking somewhat of a backseat during the past couple of years or so.

She last released a single in May 2018; Back To You was from the soundtrack to season 2 of the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

Also in 2018 she lent her voice once again to the character of Mavis in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and she was part of the cast of Jim Jarmusch’s film The Dead Don’t Die that was released in theatres in June.

Now that she’s focusing more on her career again, Gomez, who already has partnerships with Coach and Ouma, is set to create her own signature beauty line.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, her production company, July Moon Productions, filed a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office back in July.

The line will include a long list of beauty products that includes ‘fragrances, cosmetics, skin-care preparations, hair-care preparations, soaps, moisturizers and essential oils.’
