British tennis player Andy Murray recently talked about Serena Williams in his recent interview with Sky Sports, and he was full of praise for the 23-time Grand Slam title winner.

The 36-year-old talked about how Serena Williams’ legacy extended way beyond her trophies and how she inspired an entire generation of players.

The response to her retiring at the US Open, the atmosphere during her matches was incredible. You listen to all of the players talking about her & so many of the young up-and-coming female players talk about how much she inspired them to pick up a racquet. said Andy Murray via Sky Sports

The Brit further added:

Serena has been a huge part of all of their careers, that’s how long she dominated for & how long she was on the tour for. It’s obviously sad for tennis that she chose to retire but what an unbelievable career she had, & she did a lot for the sport, but she was a lot bigger than that. She inspired a lot of people across the world.

Andy Murray and Serena Williams have previously been doubles partners. They teamed up for the mixed doubles event at the 2019 Wimbledon and reached the round of 16 together. They lost to the team of Nicole Melichar Martinez and Bruno Soares to get knocked out of the round of 16.

Thus, the relationship between these two greats goes way back, and they have always been on great terms.

Serena Williams claims Andy Murray would beat her in 10 minutes

Serena Williams had clearly said that there is a big difference between men’s tennis and women’s tennis, and thus it is obvious for Andy Murray to beat her without any struggle at all.

If I were to play Andy Murray, I would lose 6-0, 6-0 in five to six minutes, maybe ten minutes. She said on a chat show

To substantiate her claim, Serena said that men are a lot faster; they serve harder and hit harder. She further concluded:

Andy stop it, I’m not gonna let you kill me.

This goes on to show how close Andy Murray and Serena Williams are.
