After the success of the “blockbuster” Eras Tour, female singer Taylor Swift has officially entered the world of billionaires. A Bloomberg analysis at the end of October determined that her net worth was estimated at more than $1.1 billion.
As the world’s top star, it’s no surprise that Taylor Swift owns a fleet of private planes to serve her life. Taylor Swift currently owns two Dassault jets, including a Falcon 900LX for $40 million.
In addition to several luxury properties, Taylor’s private jet “No. 13” is definitely one of the coolest things she owns.
Why did Taylor Swift buy plane “number 13”?
Taylor’s private plane is a Dassault Falcon 900LX, number N898TS and has the number 13 painted right in front of the main cabin door. Her other plane is a Dassault Falcon 7X.
Ignoring all the surrounding opinions that the number 13 is unlucky, the Grammy winner has some special reasons for owning a plane with this number. In an interview, Taylor shared why 13 is her lucky number.
She said her birthday was on the 13th. Her 13th birthday fell on Friday the 13th, 2002. Her first album reached gold status after only 13 weeks. Additionally, her first song to ever reach No. 1, had a 13-second intro.
Every time she attended the award ceremony, she sat in row 13 or row M (13th letter).
Some people even think that the female singer is obsessed with the number 13. In 2020, the female singer eagerly turned 31 and “teased” fans with the album Evermore (31 is the number 13 reversed).
At the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), Taylor Swift won the “Music Video of the Year” award. She wore a brilliant dress that she wore at the awards ceremony 13 years ago.
Luxurious space inside
The plane is most often spotted in Taylor Swift’s hometown of Tennessee. She uses her own plane to travel to performances. The Dassault Falcon 900LX has some special luxury equipment to make her trip more comfortable.
The aircraft can accommodate up to 12 passengers in the spacious cabin, with other amenities including a kitchen, bathroom with shower and bedroom. Everything is perfect for her to relax after each performance.
The aircraft set a maximum flight altitude of 15,544m and a maximum speed of about 1,073km/h. It is also equipped with Dassault’s advanced FalconEye visual assistance system, helping pilots see better at night and in bad weather conditions.
In 2022, digital marketing company Yard estimates Taylor Swift took about 170 private jet trips. However, the singer’s manager believes that the number is inaccurate because she often lends it to other individuals.
Previously, she owned a smaller Dassault Falcon 50 jet, which cost $4 million. She sold this 9-seat plane in March 2020. She sent all the proceeds to charity.
