Should they get their wish, this would rule Pogba out of action until he is 34, and it could prove to be the end of his career given his fitness issues since moving back to Italy.

Pogba is expected to have a final hearing in the early part of 2024 where he may look to agree a reduced sentence as part of a plea bargain.

But following the news that he could be banned for four years, he is now at major risk of having his Juventus deal ripped up for a breach of contract.

The deal is currently due to run until 2026.
