According to TMZ , Andy Stone sued Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff (co-authors of the song All I Want For Christmas Is You ) for copyright infringement . The lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District Court of Louisiana, USA.
In the document, Andy Stone confirmed that his song All I Want For Christmas Is You was recorded in 1989. The song was later widely broadcast and entered the Billboard chart during the 1993 Christmas season.

In the article published by The New York Post , the content of the lawsuit reads: “The plaintiff personally requested the defendant to stop using the name of the plaintiff’s work.
