Loyal Kanye West fans have speculated why the award-winning rapper has been covering his head and face with t-shirts and masks.
The controversial star has been spotted out and about recently in Dubai and Miami wearing a t-shirt thrown over his head, and on other occasions earlier this year, he was seen with masks covering his entire face. The Life of Pablo hitmaker has seen his reputation take a battering since divorcing Kim Kardashian in 2021, as he made a series of racist and anti-Semitic remarks, as well as throwing his support behind former US President Donald Trump.
Now, he’s sparked concern over his current trend of throwing a t-shirt over his head when out with his second wife, Bianca Censori. Fans took to Reddit to speculate why the father-of-four is rocking the bizarre accessory, with one suggesting it could be because he’s trying to get the paparazzi to focus on his new wife.

Bianca, who met Kanye when she was working on his fashion brand Yeezy, wed the star last December, and since they began dating, she’s worn a series of unusual outfits, with many ensembles baring her breasts or bottom. Her jaw-dropping looks have led many to believe he wants all eyes on Bianca, and that’s why he’s covering his head and face.

However, some believe it’s because he’s protecting his image, and doesn’t want photographers making money from selling his pictures. “Maybe it gives him some sense of privacy or control over his image,” one wrote on Reddit. “He wears it because he wants what he says to be taken seriously without the distraction of his persona,” another agreed.

Others speculated that it was linked to his old fashion line, Pastelle, which is being relaunched under the direction of Christian Azzinaro, Bloody Osiris, and Ian Connor, who are all pals of Kanye. However, Ye is not involved with the fashion line, leading some to suggest he’s working on a top-secret new Yeezy collection that may include t-shirts being worn as hats.
He opened a new Yeezy headquarters in Los Angeles over the summer, located at the Cornerstone Christian Church, but despite revealing glimpses into the sparse showroom, there’s still no word on his next Yeezy drop. It was reported that Kanye and Bianca were working on designs for another collection, and it was rumoured the bizarre designs she has been wearing could be included.
But many aren’t fans of the new direction of Bianca’s “innocent” outfits, with her clutching teddy bears while wearing barely-there outfits, even though Kanye is a big fan of creating fashion with a hidden meaning. “I feel like every time we see her she gets more foolish,” one wrote.
