Since becoming Dior’s Global Ambassador in March 2021, Jisoo Blackpink has played an important role in boosting the brand’s sales. Her influence helped Dior’s revenue increase significantly by 86.8% in just one year.
Specifically, according to Naver’s economic section, Dior’s revenue in 2021 reached 613.9 billion won (about 473 million USD), an increase of 86.8% compared to 2020. Operating profit more than doubled from 104, 7 billion won (about 80 million USD) to 211.5 billion won (about 163 million USD). This skyrocketing revenue is said to be the result of Jisoo being appointed as a Global Ambassador. The strong sales growth is most evident in her home country of South Korea, where the singer has a large and dedicated fan base. International media praised Jisoo as the “Dior princess” with favor that not every star has.
Also according to Korean media, Blackpink’s eldest sister is currently the idol with the top brand value in K-pop. With Jisoo remaining in her role as Global Ambassador, it is expected that Dior’s revenue will continue to grow.
