Newest MCU Trailer Reveals Marvel Really Is Delivering A Follow-Up To Its Most Beloved Show 6 Years Later

The latest action-packed trailer for an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show cements its connection to Marvel’s most beloved series.

The new trailer for the upcoming Echo series confirms that the Marvel Cinematic Universe really is following up on Marvel’s most beloved TV show. The characters of Disney+’s Echo are led by the returning Alaqua Cox, who once again suits up as Echo, who debuted in the MCU alongside Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in HawkeyeEcho is a very important show for the MCU, as it will be trying out some new things for the franchise.

Echo is the MCU’s first TV-MA series, the first project under the new Marvel Spotlight banner, and will also be Marvel Studios’ first show to release all of its episodes on the same day. Following a recent report that stated Marvel is rethinking how the MCU’s TV shows work, Echo doing well would prove invaluable for future series, opening a new side of the MCU. After a promising first trailer, Echo‘s story and cast got a new look through a second trailer that has not only raised the excitement for the upcoming series but also cemented that the show acts as the follow-up to Marvel’s most beloved series.

Echo’s New Trailer Feels Like A Proper Daredevil Follow-Up

The new trailer for Marvel’s Echo confirms that the series will have the same kind of tone and action as the beloved Daredevil show from Netflix, which stands to this day as a fan favorite.

It sure helps that Echo will feature Daredevil‘s two main cast members, Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, among its ranks; however, the MCU show’s connection to the Netflix series runs deeper. As Marvel Studios’ first TV-MA series, Echo is the closest the MCU has ever come to the original violent action and mature tone of Netflix’s Daredevil.

Echo‘s first trailer teased that the series was going in the same direction as Netflix’s Daredevil, and with the show’s second trailer, it is now confirmed that the Disney+ entry will serve as the spiritual successor to the Netflix Marvel project. Echo has the same kind of gritty tone that Daredevil became famous for, with the series doing away with the MCU’s usual world-ending stakes in favor of a hard-hitting street-level story that serves as a character study of its main hero. Despite Daredevil and Kingpin having appeared in other MCU projects since Daredevil season 3, Echo is the first to bring back the feel of the original show.

Echo’s Trailers Make Daredevil: Born Again More Exciting

Following Echo, Cox and D’Onofrio will return as their MCU characters in Daredevil: Born Again and excitement for the series has only gone up after the release of Echo‘s trailers. Now that the MCU is making TV-MA shows and Daredevil: Born Again is going through a redevelopment process, the series should go back to what worked for Netflix’s DaredevilEcho shows that Daredevil: Born Again can be as dark and violent as the Netflix series, which is what most fans want for the show. With Daredevil also seemingly using his Netflix series suit in the new Echo trailer, excitement also builds up for possible direct links to the Netflix show.
