Britney Spears’ mother Lynne is ‘hopeful’ she’ll return to her Louisiana hometown for Christmas

Britney Spears‘ formerly-estranged mother Lynne Spears is reportedly ‘hopeful’ she’ll return to her Louisiana hometown to spend the Christmas holiday with family after making amends.

However, the 42-year-old Grammy winner still hasn’t scheduled any travel arrangements to return to her 68-year-old mother’s Kentwood home at this point – according to TMZ.

Britney’s $11.8M Calabasas mansion could feel even lonelier next week considering her third husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce from her in August after 13 months of marriage, but he did sign a prenuptial agreement.

Spears is also estranged from her two sons – Jayden James, 17; and Sean Preston, 18 – who moved to Oahu on August 1 with her back-up dancer-turned-ex-husband #2, Kevin Federline.

The Woman In Me author continues to pay her 45-year-old ex – whom she was only married to for two years ending 2007 – $20K a month in child support.

On December 1, Britney celebrated her 42nd birthday in Los Angeles with Lynne as well as her formerly-estranged brother Bryan Spears – according to People.

The Mississippi-born mother-daughter duo began their reconciliation in May – nine months after the grandmother-of-five’s desperate Instagram plea to Spears and three years of ‘rejections’ writing: ‘I have never and will never turn my back on you!’

‘With family there’s always things that need to be worked out, but time heals all wounds!’ the semi-retired pop star – who boasts 42.7M Instagram followers – wrote on May 25.

‘And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things right! I love you so much!’

Lynne has co-written three books about Britney – Britney Spears’ Heart to Heart (2000), A Mother’s Gift (2001), and Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World (2008).

On Monday, Spears (born Bridges) joined her daughter Jamie Lynn Spears, 15-year-old granddaughter Maddie Aldridge, and five-year-old granddaughter Ivey Watson for festive fun at The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

The 32-year-old Sweet Magnolias actress previously revealed that she and the Hold Me Closer hitmaker spoke on the phone and made amends before she flew to Australia to compete on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

Meanwhile, Spears is still locked in a legal battle with her estranged father Jamie Spears, whose right leg was amputated ‘4in above his knee’ in October due to an infection.

Trans men and lesbians would get IVF priority two years ahead of heterosexual couples under NHS plan – as campaigners slam proposals as  ‘grossly discriminatory’

Family campaigners have criticised as ‘grossly discriminatory’ plans to give trans men and lesbians access to NHS-funded IVF two years ahead of heterosexual couples. Under the controversial proposals, trans men – those born as women who now identify as men – will be automatically assumed to be unable to conceive, as will lesbians and single women. This means they will be immediately eligible for IVF on the NHS – costing an estimated £5,000 a cycle – if they meet the other criteria, such as a body mass index between 19 and 30, not smoking, being under 43 and not having a partner with a child from a previous relationship.
