Bob Odenkirk reveals his plans for his $57 million movie sequel that fans believe was better than John Wick.
Both Bob Odenkirk and Keanu Reeves are seasoned action heroes, having gifted numerous action-thriller movies to the genre. While Reeves is better known for his John Wick and The Matrix franchise, Odenkirk has done quite a handful but not as successful as Reeves’ movies in the genre. However, his $57M movie is an underrated worthy opponent to John Wick, which many believe is even better than Reeves’ movie.
Many believe Nobody is better than John Wick
Made with a budget of just $16 million, Nobody is lowkey similar to John Wick but more on a smaller scale, although the suspense, action, and thrill remain the same. While a sequel is apparently on the way, the actor got candid about what he envisions for the movie.

The Emmy award-winning Bob Odenkirk started in the 2021 movie Nobody, which features Hutch Mansell, a normal father, who has his past catch up with him after a robbery at his home. A ruthless killer, he is a former assassin for the US Intelligence Community. While the movie only garnered about $57 million in theatres, it has been quite a hit on Netflix (via ScreenRant).
While speaking to the Independent, Odenkirk remarked, hinting at the storyline of its future sequel,
“[Hutch] is still a family man, but his relationship to violence is different. He’s changed, but he’s still got a long way to go to find real balance in how he’s living his life.”
While the actor did not really reveal what would be in the potential sequel to the hit movie, which many allege is better than Keanu Reeves‘ John Wick, Odenkirk had previously remarked in 2022 that he hopes to make it a trilogy (via IndieWire).
“My hope is we get to do a trilogy, and he ends up with nothing. He destroys everything he loves.”
Inspired by real-life break-ins (via The New York Times), fans can hardly wait to watch Odenkirk back in action.
When Will Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody 2 Be Released?
Hutch Mansell from Nobody
Back in 2022, Bob Odenkirk revealed to Deadline that he was still training multiple times a week so that he could return to action films. Even producer David Leitch had remarked that they were working on the sequel with shooting to start in 2023 (via Collider). However, since then there has been no news of the sequel and further, the SAG-AFTRA strikes may have potentially affected its development.
While the Nobody 2 has been confirmed by the cast and crew multiple times, it doesn’t seem like the production had begun in 2023. Seeing that the strikes may have further delayed the project, either a late 2024 or 2025 release seems more likely. Furthermore, seeing that the absence of the Keanu Reeves-led John Wick franchise and the wide gap it has left behind, Nobody 2 might take place sooner than anticipated.
Meanwhile, Nobody can be streamed on Netflix.
