It turns out that Beerus has been a canon character in the events of Dragon Ball Z for a long time

Beerus has a connection to the Old Kaioshin and is related to the story of Gohan training with the Z-sword in Dragon Ball Z.

Just imagine, we are there, watching Dragon Ball Z without knowing that the God of Destruction Beerus has appeared a long time ago in the form of an Easter egg is enough to be surprised. It turns out that during Gohan’s training with the Z-sword, when Old Kaioshin appeared, there was a hint of the almighty Beerus. A small joke in chapter 285 of Dragon Ball Z, released in the 90s, is the key to this surprise reveal in Dragon Ball Super.

Remember the scene where Goku and Gohan broke their swords and freed Old Kaioshin! Have you wondered who sealed the god there? The culprit is none other than Beerus, the God of Destruction who became a familiar name in Dragon Ball Super released nearly 30 years later.

Author Akira Toriyama revealed in an interview that it was Beerus, with his hot temper, who sealed the Old Kaioshin. Due to a fierce argument with Old Kai during a meeting held in 75 million years BC, in a moment of anger Beerus sealed Old Kai into the Z sword. And look, this has been going on for a long time before Beerus shined in Dragon Ball Super and the movie Battle of Gods.

To be honest, in 1994, when this chapter was written, Beerus probably hadn’t even entered Toriyama’s thoughts. But then with the failure of Dragon Ball Evolution, it was so bad that Toriyama decided to pull back on the plot to “clean up” his franchise, leading to the birth of “Dragon Ball Super”, where we there is a great connection between Old Kaioshin and Beerus.

Dragon Ball Super begins with Beerus waking up from a very long sleep and curious about the Saiyans who defeated Frieza and Majin Buu. Elder Kai offers an introduction calling Beerus a villain almost as terrible as Buu.

Beerus is the god of destruction, so his mission is to destroy planets to maintain balance in the universe. However, it is worth mentioning that Beerus did not act on orders from the Superme Kai, he simply destroyed it if he liked. In terms of strength, Beerus is the strongest god in universe 7, even the Kaios and Superme Kai fear him. Beerus has the ability to blow up the Earth, destroy the Solar System or even wipe out the entire Galaxy.

The appearance of Beerus and Angel Whis kicked off Dragon Ball Super and took the franchise to new heights. Now, with the Dragon Ball Super anime expected to return soon and the post-Tournament of Power manga adaptations, fans are looking forward to new and incredible adventures in the Dragon Ball universe.
