Harry Styles told the crowd to ‘sing out for Mullingar’ during his performance at Slane Castle
Niall Horan said it was “nice” of his former bandmate Harry Styles to dedicate a song to his hometown during his performance at Slane Castle.
Harry told the sold-out crowd to “sing out for Mullingar” as he sang One Direction hit What Makes You Beautiful on Saturday night.
Niall, who hails from Mullingar, Co Westmeath, said he had no idea his former bandmate would dedicate a song to his hometown.

He said: ““I haven’t seen anything yet. I’ll have to have a look. I knew he was playing Slane so that’s obviously a very special place to us.
“I hope it went well. He gave Mullingar a shout? That’s nice. It’s not far from Mullingar where he played.”
Niall, 29, released his third solo album last week and said his relationship with Amelia Woolley inspired many of the songs.
Speaking to ITN at Capital’s Summertime ball, he said: “Everything is going good. There’s no heartbreak going on. I’m a happy boy.”
Niall also said his good friend Lewis Capaldi is resting and recuperating ahead of his Glastonbury gig.
He said: “He’s taking a well-earned break. That man hasn’t stopped for a long time.
“I’m glad he’s got to that point where he can go, ‘I need a bit of time off’.”
