Man City silently activated England’s best playmaking mission

The foggy press revealed that Manchester City is ambitious to own the top-rated playmaker in the Premier League this season.

Although there are not many problems with scoring goals despite lacking Kevin De Bruyne in the first half of the season, Man City is supposedly wants to upgrade the squad with a new playmaker. According to the British press, Pep Guardiola’s team is interested in the best passer in the Premier League.

Specifically, according to exclusive news from journalist Steve Kay, Manchester City has ‘entered the race’ with Arsenal to sign midfielder Pedro Neto. Despite starting later, The Citizens are said to have ‘started negotiations’ with this player’s representative to evaluate the feasibility of a deal.

Man City’s advantage is that they have a ‘good relationship’ with Pedro Neto’s agent as well like Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs. Last summer, the two teams also shook hands to complete a famous transfer named Matheus Nunes.

Pedro Neto is 24 years old and is a mainstay in coach Gary O’Neil’s Wolves squad this season. In 11 appearances in the Premier League since the beginning of the season, the Portuguese player has contributed 7 assists to the Wolves, the second most in the tournament after Ollie Watkins and Mohamed Salah (8).

However, Pedro Neto played 9 fewer matches than his two seniors due to a hamstring injury. If he did not have to stop playing from November to the end of December 2023, perhaps the Wolves star’s assist record would be higher than 7.

Back at Man City, they have long been looking for a classy left-footed player to replace Riyad Mahrez and Pedro Neto is the top priority. Pep Guardiola’s team also appreciates the 24-year-old player’s defensive support ability, in the context that Kyle Walker is older and needs a good quality teammate to coordinate on the wing.

According to Transfermarkt, Pedro Neto is currently valued at about 40 million pounds. This number is not a big problem for Man City. What needs to be done now is probably to close an agreement with Wolves and the player. If the parties soon find common ground, a deal could be activated right in this January transfer window.
