Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s some big news to report about another departing actor. Steve Burton recently announced his exit as Harris Michaels in a video shared on The Daily Drama’s YouTube channel.

Burton wrapped his one-year stint following the conclusion of his contract, so he filmed his last scenes in December 2023.

Although Burton is leaving DOOL behind, he had nothing but good things to say about everyone he worked with there.

“Well, I just shot my final scenes here on Days of Our Lives and I just want to say, thank you so much to the cast, to the crew. It’s been amazing,” Burton insisted.

After Burton offered a sweet “thank you” to all the fans, he expressed his gratitude for the experience and urged everyone to “stay tuned” for his upcoming exit arc.

Of course, the news of Steve Burton’s exit will no doubt get a mixed reaction from Days viewers.

Some fans were thrilled to see Burton join the show full-time – especially General Hospital watchers who were eager to see Jason Morgan’s former portrayer on another soap.

Other fans weren’t as interested, particularly since Harris has proved to be a rather bland character during his run at Days.

Regardless, there are other characters who can slide in that heroic role on canvas, so Harris lifts right out and won’t leave a major void behind.

Even so, Steve Burton is certainly a beloved star in the world of soaps, so some viewers will be sad to see him go.

On the bright side, this could open the door for Burton to make a GH comeback, so we’ll be sure to offer updates on that exciting possibility.

As for how Harris will exit Salem, it’s too early to say how that will play out. DOOL films multiple months in advance, so Harris’ on-screen departure won’t play out for quite a while.
