Did Taylor Swift predict her romance with Travis Kelce? Resurfaced 2009 interview sees singer describe her ideal man – who bears STRIKING similarity to NFL star

Taylor Swift seemingly predicted her romance with Travis Kelce back in 2009 when she described her ideal man in a resurfaced interview.

The singer, 34, who recently celebrated New Year’s with the Kansas City Chiefs star, 34,  detailed her dream man and relationship in a candid chat with Glamour – and he bears a striking resemblance to her current romance.

She said:  ‘It’s always going to be long-distance, even if I date the boy who lives next door to me in Nashville.

‘I’ll be flying to see him and flying him places to see me. It feels like it would involve more scheduling, and I already deal with a lot of scheduling in my life. Of course, if I met somebody who was worth it, I would probably stop thinking that way!’

Taylor has been regularly flying to watch Travis’ games and seeing him whenever she has a break from her The Eras tour.

When asked if she’d ‘have to date someone at a similar level of success?’ she responded: ‘I think it’s more a question of confidence. I wouldn’t want to be with a pushover who would let me make all the plans and have all the control.

‘It’s really natural for me to go into planning mode, but I’d rather be with someone who has his own voice and passion and ambition.’

The couple  looked as loved-up as ever as they posed with Brittany and Patrick Mahomes in a new snap from a New Year’s party in Kansas City.

Taylor and Travis, who shared a passionate kiss at the soiree as the clock struck midnight, were smitten as the singer wrapped an arm around the NFL star – while cuddling up to Brittany and Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick, both 28.

Travis showed off his quirky style in a mottled brown corduroy two piece and shades, while Taylor wowed in a glittering dress worn with her signature red lipstick as she held a glass of champagne.

A further snap from the festivities showed Taylor pulling a pout as she posed with Travis and a group of pals.

This comes amid speculation among fans that Travis told Taylor ‘I love you’ in a viral video of the pair sharing a kiss at midnight.

The pair are seen deep in conversation before locking lips in the video – with Swifties claiming Travis was declaring his love for the star.

Video from the party surfaced across social media on New Year’s Day, with the singer and the NFL star caught on camera in a passionate embrace on a number of clips from the bash.

They partied the night away after Swift went to cheer Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on to victory in Sunday’s game against Cincinnati Bengals.

The singer arrived for the game at Arrowhead Stadium wearing a replica of the same Chiefs jacket that Kelce had arrived in for the Christmas Day NFL game which she was also at. A closer looks shows that she has ‘Tay’ stitched into the sleeve of her version – a nickname Travis has used for her before.

They have spent plenty of time together during the holidays with the singer enjoying a break before a relentless year of touring in 2024.

The couple went public with their relationship in late September last year when she arrived in Kansas City to cheer him on against the Chicago Bears in September 24. She sat next to his mom, Donna, for the duration of the game.

In her only interview since then, Swift said they had been spending time together up to then and were already a couple.

‘By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,’ Swift told TIME magazine after they crowned her 2023’s Person of the Year.

‘I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.

‘When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.

‘The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.’
