One man’s personal snapshots from 1967 offer a truly fascinating glimpse into what it was like to be a tourist in New York City before Madison Square Garden and the Twin Towers even existed.
For Houston-based photographer Josh Burdick snapping pictures runs in the family. In fact, when he found a collection of snaps that his father, Cecil E Burdick Jr, took on a family vacation to Manhattan in 1967 – before Josh was even born – he knew they were something special.
Now, in addition to taking his own professional photos, the 42-year-old sells prints of his dad’s eye-opening trip on his website.
