‘S*** scared’ – John Fury says Otto Wallin was terrified of Anthony Joshua and claims Deontay Wilder was a ‘different person’ from Tyson Fury fight

John Fury has ripped into both Otto Wallin and Deontay Wilder over their defeats to Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker last month.

The two former foes of Tyson Fury – two of the strongest names on his résumé, in fact – both put in lacklustre displays as they were beaten on the Day of Reckoning show in Saudi Arabia.

Wilder was unable to land his famous right hand as he was outboxed for 12 rounds and beaten by Parker.

Then Wallin was simply overwhelmed by AJ, who broke his nose and stopped him after five rounds.

“Wallin was s*** scared of him,” Fury Sr has now told SecondsOut.

“Fair play to AJ, he looked like a man on a mission.

“Otto Wallin never turned up, just like Deontay Wilder never. I’ve never seen anything as bad as Deontay Wilder in my life to be honest with you.

“I was looking at two different people in Wallin and Wilder – those were not the people who fought Tyson.

“Tyson probably took everything out of them.

“AJ looked the part and done the job, so he’s earned his right a put a step forward to a mega fight with Tyson.”

Joshua will next face another big name Fury has fought previously as he takes on the Gypsy King’s last opponent Francis Ngannou on March 8.

Back in October, the MMA star shocked the boxing world in his debut in the sport as he floored Fury and only lost to him by narrow split decision.

Now, Ngannou will jump straight into another huge fight with AJ, but Fury Sr thinks he could be overawed this time, just like Wallin.

“I don’t know what it is when [fighters] see these big muscular men, they need brown trousers,” he said.

“When they see Tyson, a bit fat, doesn’t look much, they seem to bring their A-game and fight out of their skin.

“But when they see AJ, 6ft 6ins, 18 stone, solid, looks the part, the plug goes out of them.

“If Ngannou doesn’t crap himself, it’ll be a good fight.”
