Brilliant African lady wins UK Rhodes scholarship, set to bag masters degree at University of Oxford

A brilliant African lady named Victoria Kipngetich has won the prestigious Rhodes scholarship to study for her master’s at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Victoria is a Kenyan who was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship to study for her master’s degree at University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She is among 62 students from across the world to receive the 2024 Rhodes Scholarships.

Victoria is currently studying for her bachelors degree in Global Affairs at Yale University, one of the Ivy League School in the United States. She is one of the four recipents of the Rhodes scholarship from Yale University.

The Rhodes Scholarship ranks among the most prestigious of awards recognizing academic excellence at Oxford University for graduate study. It is also one of the oldest global recognitions in academia

Victoria was awarded the scholarship based on her passion for agency in Africa’s diplomatic relations and the democratization of foreign policy in the Kenyan context.

At Yale University, she interned at the Kenya Mission to the United Nations at the Council on Foreign Relations.She is fluent in English, Kiswahili and French and has studied Italian at Yale.

Through the Brady-Johnson Program in Grand Strategy, she conducted research on the diplomatic strategies employed by Kenyan policymakers in response to emerging great power competition dynamics on the African continent.

She will be studying for her masters degree in Global Governance and Diplomacy at the Oxford University With the scholarship, Victoria plans to conduct diplomatic strategies employed by Kenyan Policymakers in light of emerging competitions in Africa.
