DeAndre Yedlin has quipped that ‘there’s another special Argentinean 10’ in Cincinnati after parting ways with Lionel Messi and Inter Miami.
On Monday, the defender was traded to FC Cincinnati for $172,799 in General Allocation Money, ending his two-year stay with the club.
And in his introductory press conference the following day with his new club, Yedlin offered the massive praise to new teammate Luciano Acosta, according to 90min US.
Acosta, a 29-year-old attacking midfielder, won MLS‘ MVP award last season as he tallied a whopping 17 goals and 14 assists.
Like Messi, he is a native of Argentina, having been born in Buenos Aires.

Yedlin, meanwhile, played for the University of Akron in college and seemed excited to return to Ohio.
‘It’s a little like being back home… this is a great place to raise kids,’ he told reporters.
‘Hopefully I raise them here for a good amount of time.’
The former Newcastle and Tottenham full-back was Miami’s captain before Messi arrived.
Messi and Yedlin shared a special moment in August as they lifted the Leagues Cup together
He joined the Herons in February 2022 on a four-year deal following his exit from Galatasaray.
Messi has started the season hot with three goals and an assist for Miami, including a brace in the 5-0 thrashing of Orlando City last weekend.
Acosta has one assist in two appearances thus far for Cincinnati.
Yedlin is expected to be available for Cincy’s CONCACAF Champions Cup round of first leg against CF Monterrey on Thursday.
