The world is also about to see the 35-year-old singer and actress as never before as she gets set to portray Italian socialite and convicted felon Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci.
The Academy Award winner spoke to Vogue about her upcoming role in the Ridley Scott movie.
She explained: “It is three years since I started working on it and I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as her (Reggiani) for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that. Off camera, I never broke. I stayed with her.”The pop superstar can be seen sprawled out totally nude in another snap from her debut shoot for Vogue Magazine (Image: Steven Meisel / Vogue)
She also revealed to the fashion powerhouse publication that she went so deep into the part she began to lose touch with reality.
Gaga admitted: “I had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming.
“I was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her.
“I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn’t taken a walk in about two months and I panicked. I thought I was on a movie set.”

Despite the buzz over the 35-year-old Italian-American’s upcoming role, Gaga has faced harsh criticism from Patrizia Reggiani herself, who told an Italian journalist: “I am quite annoyed by the fact that Lady Gaga is playing me in the new Ridley Scott film without even having the foresight and sensitivity to come and meet me”
This isn’t the first the star will hit the big screen. Gaga won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel and appeared in the critically acclaimed musical drama film A Star Is Born.

She added: “It was the experience of a lifetime making this film because every minute of every day I thought of my ancestors in Italy and what they had to do so that I could have a better life.
