Britney Spears is writing music again following the release of her tell-all memoir, “The Woman in Me.”
“I wrote a new song !!!” the singer shared via Instagram Saturday alongside a shot from her 2001 “Overprotected” music video.
While she doesn’t give too much away, the pop star suggested that the new track is called “Hate You to Like Me.”
Spears’ rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The “Lucky” songstress also clarified that she has “no beef with anyone,” adding that she is “just being a narcissist in a claimed, self-entitled way.”
However, fans were quick to point out the similarity between the supposed song’s title and Selena Gomez’s hit breakup anthem “Lose You to Love Me.”
“Is she shading Selena again?” one user tweeted.

“Britney Spears can’t enjoy her memoir and all the praise she’s getting… she just had to find a way to insult Selena somehow,” a second person wrote.
Spears, 41, was previously accused of throwing shade at the Rare Beauty founder, 31, in October 2022 for the latter’s 2016 speech in which she told young girls she “[didn’t want to see [their] bodies” on Instagram.
The “Gimme More” hitmaker, seemingly referencing Gomez’s 2020 “Ice Cream” music video with Blackpink, wrote at the time: “They say ‘This is NOT something I would do’ yet those women are the very ones who get 4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream !!!!”

Spears continued, “So the next time I see someone with a big budget video sucking on lollipops yet giving righteous speeches shaming other women for exposing their bodies, I would like to tell those people don’t be a hypocrite as you suck on your lollipop having HUGE budget dreams…”
However, the mom of two quickly shared another post, explaining that her rant “had nothing to do with anyone specific at all.”
Despite past speculation of a feud between the “Toxic” singer and Gomez — who notably attended Spears’ 2022 wedding to Sam Asghari — others weren’t buying the coincidence between their song titles.

“Just because Britney Spears posted a lyrics [sic] kinda mimicking Selena Gomez song does not mean its a shade for her,” one user wrote.
The Princess of Pop’s musical tease follows the successful release of her memoir earlier this week.
The tell-all book — which hit No. 1 on Amazon’s best-seller list — provides juicy insight into Spears’ former relationships with exes Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline.
