The best parts of Wrexham’s FA Cup matchup with Sheffield United were the looks on Ryan Reynolds’ face, the team’s co-owner, and Blake Lively’s funny jokes about her husband.
Star of Hollywood Ryan Reynolds was tormented and ecstatic as he watched his Wrexham team’s Sunday night tie with Sheffield United.
And wife Blake Lively has hilariously poked fun at her husband, admitting she paid to watch him “experience crippling anxiety live”.
It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Reynolds, who took over Wrexham in November 2020 along with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney.
His reactions to every goal in the thrilling 3-3 draw were caught on camera – and Blake was able to watch from home.
Hilariously poking fun at her hubby, Blake uploaded a snap of the Deadpool actor looking distraught with his hand on his head.

On her Instagram story, she wrote: “I bought ESPN+ today. Just to watch my husband experience crippling anxiety live.”
“Worth it,” she cheekily added, before letting her followers know about the scale of Wrexham’s achievement.
The Gossip Girl star explained: “They’re playing a team 3 leagues higher. And currently winning. Life makes no sense.
“If you’re not watching this insane @wrexham_afc game right now you’re missing out on these vibes.”
Reynolds wasn’t watching the match alone, as he was joined by eight-year-old daughter James, who was getting just as excited as her dad.

Before the game, Wrexham would have bitten your hand off for a 3-3 draw, considering they sit 70 places below the Blades in the football pyramid.
But they thought they had snatched victory with just minutes remaining, only for their Championship opponents to level the score in the dying seconds.
After the game, Reynolds paid tribute to Wrexham fans and claimed the game was “one of the most exciting things” he’s ever seen.
They earned a rematch against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane – with the winner being rewarded with a fifth-round tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
