The Boys’ official social media account has disclosed a number of storyline clues for season four.
Several information about the narrative of the upcoming fourth season of the popular superhero series The Boys have been disclosed and verified in a social media post from the official Instagram account. The official account of the Amazon series uploaded a picture of Homelander from the recently released teaser for The Boys season four along with a few bullet points indicating that the evil “Supe” will either go on trial or attend “a splatter paint class.”
“Homelander is standing trial and taking a splatter paint class. One of those statements is true. Butcher has six months to live, and still knows about that virus being cooked at Godolkin.”
The rest of the bullet points reveal details regarding member of Congress Victoria Neuman, who will be a major antagonist in season four, before poking fun at Star Wars and revealing that “Somehow, Noir has returned.”
“Neuman is closer than ever to changing her title from ‘Congresswoman’ to ‘VP.’ Sage and Firecracker are two of the most dangerous supes you’ll ever meet, and let’s just leave it at that for now. Deep hasn’t changed one f—in bit. MM is still the team’s rock, just with less beard. Somehow, Noir has returned.”
Alongside these details, The Boys star Erin Moriarty previouisly gave series fans some hints as to what to expect from Starlight in the upcoming fourth season of the Prime Video superhero series. While chatting recently with ComicBook.com during the BoxLunch Holiday Gala to benefit Feeding America, Moriarty reflected on how her character is adjusting to her new role within the team after previously defecting from The Seven. Moriarty said:
“Oh my God, okay I’m sorry it’s just, maybe this is just a good advertisement for Season 4, that I can’t answer that without maintaining composure. I can’t! No that’s my earnest response! I’m actually scared to answer … She is adjusting great.”
The upcoming season of The Boys has plenty of expectation riding on it, coming in the wake of the successful spin-off series Gen V and the teasing stinger that came with its finale.
Eric Kripke Said “There’s a Lot Happening Behind the Scenes” in Season 4
The Boys creator Eric Kripke has had his finger on the pulse of both shows, and seems to have already worked out all the intricate details about how the new season of The Boyswill pick up from Gen V’s ending. In the same interview, he noted:
“Most of the editing is done, we’re now deep into the music and visual effects. Marketing is starting to taxi their planes on the runway. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes of The Boys Season 4, I can say that.”
Of course, for those who joined the younger generation of Supes for Gen V’s expansion of the franchise, there was an unexpected treat in the finale as Antony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher put in appearances, whetting the appetite for another season of conflict between the two characters in The Boys upcoming episodes. Speaking of the cameo appearances, Kripke said:
“For Butcher, by the time they were making the finale, we were pretty deep into breaking Season 4. We knew that we wanted that virus to be a pretty big part of Season 4, and we knew that we wanted Butcher to be aware of it. It seems crazy that he wouldn’t be aware of it. It became kind of tricky, because how do we show that he knows about it without it just being dialogue? This idea came up that it probably shouldn’t even happen in The Boys , it should happen in Gen V. The value of having the [two shows’ writers] rooms be in coordination is, our room took it to Michele and her room and said, ‘Can we put Butcher in the end, so we can show that he’s really hot on the tail of the virus?’ It was really cool, because it does a nice little preamble to what’s coming next. And Karl and Ant both were willing to come in on their days off to go work on the other show. But the Homelander part was Michele’s team.”
The Boys season four is all set to premiere in 2024. Check out the trailer below:
