Red Devils’ Future Shines Bright: Wayne Rooney’s Eldest Son Excels in Manchester United’s Youth Team

What is happening shows that Kai Rooney is following his father’s footsteps to shine in the Manchester United shirt.

Kai Rooney is only 13 years old but he has already given Manchester United fans the feeling of ‘like father, like son’ as he continues to progress at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney scored 253 goals in 559 matches for Man Utd, the most of any player who has ever played for the Red Devils. He finally returned to Everton in 2017 after 13 years playing in Manchester, bringing home 5 Premier League titles, 3 League Cups, 1 FA Cup, 1 Europa League and 1 Champions League.

It is perhaps no surprise, then, that Wayne’s eldest son would attempt a professional football career now. Nearly three years since signing with the Man Utd academy, Kai is also on the right track.

Doubts immediately struck the boy because of the overwhelming aura from Shrek. Now, those who doubt Kai must be silent.

In June 2022, Kai revealed via his Instagram account that he scored 56 goals and provided 28 assists in all competitions for the academy team the previous season.

Last season was also not bad when Kai showed his ability to both create and score goals. The eldest son of the Red Devils legend scored four goals in a 4-5 loss to Liverpool and scored in a 2-0 victory over Man City in the final of the Northern National Cup for under-13s.

Overcome the halo from father

Instead of being hindered by the need to be excellent like his father, Kai gradually proves his personal abilities. In July last year, he signed a sponsorship deal with Puma and has attracted more than 110,000 followers on Instagram.

Kai used to share a lot of moments showing off his soccer skills. Instead of being a shy boy forced into a football career, Kai appears as an individual determined to create his own path.

But while Wayne grew up dreaming of a career at Goodison Park, his son had other ideas. Not Everton, in Kai there is only Man Utd as this 13-year-old star seeks to overcome the youth level at the club.

Kai Rooney’s scissor ball evoked memories of the famous goal his father scored for Man Utd against Manchester City.

In June, Kai shared: ” In 10 years, I hope to play in the Premier League for Man United. That is my dream but I have to make it come true with hard work .”

It is very likely that fans will witness little Rooney roaming the Old Trafford turf to compete in many top matches. “A tiger father gave birth to a tiger son” seems to be the right thing to imagine about Kai Rooney and Wayne Rooney.
