The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln addresses the possibility of a future crossover event between the many different spinoffs that are now ongoing.
The Walking Dead franchise star Andrew Lincoln has opened up about the possibility of a massive crossover event between the zombie spinoff shows now airing. Following the end of the main series in November 2022, the show split off into a variety of sequel series. This includes Dead City led by Maggie and Negan, Daryl Dixon featuring Daryl and Carol, and The Ones Who Live, which finished Rick and Michonne’s story. However, all the shows still take place in the same dead world.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about The Ones Who Live‘s ending, Lincoln expressed interest in a major crossover between The Walking Dead spinoffs. The actor said bringing even more familiar faces back was considered for Rick and Michonne’s curtain call, but said it would be interesting to see everyone reunited in an event of sorts instead. Check out what Lincoln had to say below:
That’s very astute, and something we spoke at length about. There are a few surviving personalities still in the universe, and it would be extraordinary to have them all breathe the same air at some point. It could be an absolutely tremendous, traumatic reunion of sorts.

Lincoln isn’t the only person behind The Walking Dead to express interest in a crossover between the universe’s ongoing spinoffs. The franchise’s Chief Content Officer and The Ones Who Live showrunner Scott Gimple has also expressed interest in bringing the show’s familiar characters back together again in the future. This includes laying the foundations for a crossover event in the spinoffs, possibly having everyone reunite in a new series later down the road.
Since all the franchise’s spinoffs take place in the same universe, it opens the door for everyone to come back together, possibly to face a new threat to the Virginia communities. This could be done thanks to The Ones Who Live revealing the CRM’s global connections, Major General Beale telling Rick they have spies in communities all around the world. If some of those spies are situated in New York City or France, then the threat of the militarized group may not be over.
Beyond a larger crossover, it’s also possible the ongoing spinoffs will feature returning characters showing up in different parts of the story. This may include Rick and Michonne appearing in Daryl Dixon, especially now that they’ve safely returned to the Virginia communities. They could also learn about Maggie’s plight up north, deciding to go there with other familiar faces in order to help her. With plenty of possibilities for The Walking Dead‘s future, a major crossover event is very possible and has plenty of potential.
