The King of Pop passed only two weeks before he was scheduled to begin an incredible eight-month stay in London as part of a “farewell tour” in 2009.
Before his untimely death, Michael Jackson’s choreographer worked with him on the This Is It tour. Now, details of the concerts that were never held have been revealed.
When the King of Pop passed away in June 2009 at his leased Los Angeles residence following a heart attack brought on by an overdose, fans were devastated.
Two weeks later, the star was supposed to begin an eight-month residence at the O2 in London as part of a planned farewell tour.
And although the celebrity passed away before the run of shows was scheduled to begin, choreographer Travis Payne has revealed information about the figure that was never shown on stage.
The Sun reports that Travis informed fans that Michael had intended for his shows to feature a number of A-List celebrities as special guests.
In response to a fan’s query, the 51-year-old dancing expert declared that Britney Spears was “100%” of the people who would have performed with Michael Jackson live.
According to The Sun, Britney Spears, a fellow music legend, topped the singer’s list.
Fans would never see Michael and Britney together on this disastrous tour, but they had previously performed on the same stage.
Michael planned to include Britney Spears in his This Is It tour – the pair duetted in 2001.
The two performed together at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2001, sharing a duet on the song “The Way You Make Me Feel.”
Brit earlier said, “It was just really an amazing experience,” while discussing her experience sharing the stage with her idol. It was fantastic.
“That he wanted to perform this song with me honored me much.”
She also made hints that she might have participated in one of Michael’s This Is It performances after his death in 2009.
She has earlier said, “I was really looking forward to seeing his play in London. I was planning to travel in to visit him because we were going to be on tour in Europe at the same time.
“He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life, and I’m devastated he’s gone!”
Britney is about to be heard collaborating with another music icon – as she has teamed up with Sir Elton John on a new track.
The Baby One More Time singer has leant her vocals to a remix of Elt’s classic track Tiny Dancer – via a new tune titled Hold Me Closer.
