Ice Spice’s encounter on Hot Ones was far more dramatic than her sultry time with Nicki Minaj.
The 24-year-old Grammy Award nominee had to let it all hang out during her recent appearance on the First We Feast series. She talked about working with Nicki Minaj on their song “Princess Diana” and her impending first studio album, Y2K.
She mocked host Sean Evans, saying, “I feel like I’m handling it better than you,” but then she acknowledged, “I spoke too soon.”
After consuming Da’ Bomb Beyond Insanity (135,600 Scoville level), which Evans referred to as “one of the hottest hot sauces on the planet,” she started to spin out of control.
She added, “I’m not going to lie to you; that’s so f***ed up.” I’m going crazy, everyone. Do I seem red? Like anything in the mind?
During her most recent Hot Ones episode, Ice Spice had to give up after attempting Da’ Bomb Beyond Insanity (135,600 Scoville level).
“One of the hottest hot sauces on the planet,” according to Evans
Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, said, “It looks like I’m crying, but I’m not.”
She said, “This one got me shaking,” just before she moved on to the next sauce.
She tapped out after inhaling MataSanos (680,000 Scoville). “I refuse to injure myself in that way,” Gaston declared.
She chatted with Evans earlier in the podcast about working with Minaj on the music video for her 2023 song, “Princess Diana.”
My favorite video to shoot was the “Princess Diana” remix featuring Nicki because I was so happy. Oh my god,’ she thought back. “On set, I’ve never been this excited.”
“And the bedroom scene, that was so fun,” Gaston went on. Who does that, jumping about on the bed with Nicki? That was enjoyable, then.
The track from the artist’s January EP Like..? was released, and in April 2023 the Bronx-born musician released the video.
Along with Minaj, she co-wrote the song “Barbie World” from the star-studded Barbie soundtrack from the previous year.
Gaston said earlier this month that she had completed recording her debut album, Y2K, and that it will be “dropping soon” on Hot Ones.

Gaston declared on Hot Ones that her debut album, Y2K, is “dropping soon,” having completed recording it earlier this month.
“I’ve been playing the album fully through in the car, volume all the way up,” Ice Spice added to Evans, confirming that the record has passed the “car test.”
“This is going to be released,” I think to myself every time I work on a song,” she had previously stated in the episode. “That hasn’t always been the case, but it was during the recording of this album.”
Evans was also informed by her that the record passed the “car test.”
“I’ve been listening to the entire album in the car with the volume all the way up,” Gaston said. And it went by. Thank goodness, it passed.
This year, Gaston received her first four Grammy nominations and discussed why her achievement has meant so much to her.
“I’m from the Bronx, specifically Fordham Road,” she said, giving her origins. “I think everything about New York City is just so much hustle and bustle.”
Gaston continued, “And that was really the motive thereβjust wanting to make it out and provide for my family and live a more comfortable lifestyle.”
