Priyanka Chopra recently revealed that she and husband Nick Jonas have matching tattoos.

Speaking to British Vogue, the actress, 40 – who shares a baby daughter with the Jonas Brothers hunk, 30 – shared the sweet meaning behind their ink.

‘I have a check and a box behind my ears,’ Priyanka began.

‘My husband has them on his arms because when he proposed, he asked me, that I checked all his boxes, and would I check another one?’

Priyanka did not show off her hidden tats, but she did take a moment to gush over her ‘super thoughtful’ husband.

‘When he’s around, everything feels like it’ll be okay. He has taught me to approach things from a much calmer place,’ she told the outlet.

Priyanka and Nick became romantically involved in May 2018 and wed just two months later.

In January 2022, the age-gap couple welcomed their first child, daughter Malti Marie, via surrogate.

As exclusively reported by DailyMail.com at the time, the surrogate gave birth twelve weeks early.

Born at just 27 weeks, baby Malti had to stay in the NICU at a hospital in Southern California for her first 100 days.

In the same British Vogue interview, Priyanka addressed the criticism she and her husband have faced for choosing surrogacy.

‘Just because I don’t want to make my medical history public doesn’t give you the right to make up whatever the reasons were,’ the mother-of-one said.

The performer went on to reflect on being accused by some of ‘outsourcing’ her pregnancy, so she could focus on her career.

‘I had medical complications so this was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this,’ she explained.

‘I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me,’ she added. ‘But it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter. I’m like, “Keep her out of it.”

‘Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her. I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her.’

For the next three months, the new parents travelled daily to the neonatal intensive care unit to be with their daughter, a tough chapter which happened to fall during the first omicron wave in the US.

‘We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest,’ Priyanka recalled. ‘I didn’t know if she would make it or not.’

Malti has happily been at home with Priyanka and Nick since last Spring, with the actress taking a year off work to be with her little girl.

‘It’s been 20 years of hustling and working at breakneck speed. I’ve always been like, ‘What’s the next thing?’ […] ‘But now I feel I have a centre, a sense of calm, because every decision ends up being about her,’ the star said of her new approach to work and life.

Being that she had a ‘pretty wild journey in the early part of her life,’ Nick told Kelly Clarkson earlier this month that they made Malti’s first birthday a special one.

They hosted a celebration at their LA home the weekend of Malti’s January 15 birthdate.

A second image showed the former Miss World 2000 holding her infant as they gazed at the ocean.

For their fun excursion, Chopra dressed her daughter in a yellow Dior jacket and white t-shirt.

Another snap featured the family-of-three just mere feet from the ocean as a sailboat cruised along the water in the distance.
