What fate for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman?

Gal Gadot said the future of the series has not yet been decided.

The fate of DC’s “Wonder Woman” series, starring actress Gal Gadot, is still a big question. Recently, there have been many shares from Gal Gadot herself, DC leaders like Games Gunn and Peter Safran affirming that they will work on “Wonder Woman 3” together. However, according to Variety sources , this is only information to reassure public opinion.

Part 3 of the series about the DC heroine is not currently in development at DC Studios and James Gunn himself, as well as Peter Safran, are not named in any projects related to “Wonder Woman” in the new DC Universe. with the exception of the previously announced “Paradise Lost” prequel series for Max.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Gal Gadot said the future of the franchise is still undecided: “I loved playing Wonder Woman, it was a valuable experience for me. According to James and Peter shared, we will make “Wonder Woman 3” together.

“I was invited to a meeting with those two talented directors. They said: ‘Wonder Woman is in the best hands, we will make this movie with you.’ We like you as Wonder Woman, so you don’t have to worry about anything,” the actress continued.

Sources said that DC has not promised anything to Gal Gadot for part 3 of this series, nor has there been any discussion about Gadot’s Wonder Woman continuing to appear in the new DC Universe.

James Gunn and Peter Safran gave a presentation at the beginning of the year to introduce the first films in their new DC Universe, such as “Superman: Legacy.”

Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s DC Universe. She first appeared in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” before having two movies of her own: “Wonder Woman” and “Wonder Woman 1984”. Gadot’s Wonder Woman also appeared in “Justice League” and had small scenes in DC movies like “Shazam! Fury of the Gods.” Her two solo “Wonder Woman” films were directed by Patty Jenkins. The two were developing “Wonder Woman 3”, then paused, before James Gunn and Peter Safran were appointed as the new leaders of DC Studios.

In December last year, “Wonder Woman 3” suddenly collapsed, after the leadership of Warner Bros. rejected director Jenkins’ plans for a sequel. Jenkins publicly withdrew from the project. This event took place days after Gunn and Safran assumed control of DC Studios and announced they would renew the DC Universe. Many reports confirm that Jenkins refused to renew “Wonder Woman 3” to fit Gunn and Safran’s DC Universe, so she had to leave.

“I’ve never given up. I’m willing to consider anything they ask for, but understand that at this point, there’s nothing I can do to move the project forward. DC is facing challenges.” changes they were forced to make, so the decision is very difficult at this time,” Jenkins shared on Twitter.

About an hour after Jenkins posted his announcement, Gunn voiced his support: “I always feel professional when working with you.”

In January of this year, when Gunn and Safran met with the press to introduce the first chapter of their new DC Universe (dubbed “Gods and Monsters”), they announced a single related project. to Wonder Woman. It’s “Paradise Lost”, a prequel series for the Max channel. The series has been described as similar to “Game of Thrones”, taking place on the island of Themyscira before the birth of Wonder Woman.
