The private ceremony was attended by celebs including Robert De Niro, who had worked with Lawrence on the 2012 film “Silver Linings Playbook,” 2013’s “American Hustle,” and the 2015 film “Joy.”
But at the rehearsal dinner, Lawrence admitted that she was so worried that De Niro, 80, wasn’t having a good time that she even told him to “go home.”
“I looked over and I saw Bob, who doesn’t know anybody and he’s kind of wandering around, and I immediately was like, ‘No, this isn’t what he wants to be doing. I don’t want him here,’” she explained.
“So I went over and whispered, I was like, ‘Go home,’ and he was nice — he like talked to my parents and was polite — but I was like, ‘Go.’ “
“That just genuinely made me feel better,” she said of the Oscar winner’s exit.
Lawrence, 33, and Maroney, 38, tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Newport, Rhode Island, in October 2019.
She and the art gallery director wed at the historic Belcourt of Newport mansion surrounded by celebrities including Adele, Kris Jenner and Emma Stone.
“I’ll never forget — I was freaking out about the guests being cold, and all of my friends were lying. They’re like, ‘Nobody’s cold, nobody’s cold, everything’s fine, everything’s fine,’” she shared.
“My mom was like, ‘It’s freezing out there. Your grandmother almost died.’”
It’s the first time Lawrence revealed details from her intimate wedding day.
The Oscar-winning actress never shared photos of her Dior wedding gown, which had its own hotel room leading up to the big day, but paparazzi photos revealed a sequined neckline. Maroney, meanwhile, opted for a classic tuxedo.
