Harry Styles is in a particularly quiet period at the moment. He’s no longer promoting his latest album Harry’s House, and he finished his historic Love On Tour trek nearly a year ago. While he’s not pushing anything, that doesn’t mean he’s not still charting.
The Grammy winner is back on the U.K. singles chart this week with his biggest hit. “As It Was” returns to the ranking of the most-consumed songs in the country at No. 41, narrowly missing out on cracking the top 40 region once again.
“As It Was” has topped the U.K. songs chart in the past, which isn’t shocking to anyone who knows how huge that cut was during its initial heyday. As of this frame, the single has now spent 90 weeks somewhere on the tally, which is no easy feat for one track.
The globally-adored musician scored the hit of a lifetime with “As It Was,” which ruled charts all around the world. It debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and lived in the penthouse for its first 10 weeks. The track was last present on this roster earlier this year, so it’s only been absent for a few months.
Styles’ “As It Was” may have suddenly become popular again thanks to a new movie. The Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine-starring The Idea Of You premiered on Amazon Prime Video earlier in May to what appear to be healthy viewing numbers and positive reviews, and now it looks like it’s having an affect on this tune.
But what does that film have to do with Styles? The Idea of You is about a slightly older woman who falls in love and has a fling with a member of one of the biggest boy bands in the world. The movie is an adaptation of a novel written by Robinne Lee, which was loosely based on One Direction and, of course, Styles.

At the same time that “As It Was” returns, Styles’ most recent project is also on the rise. Harry’s House lifts from No. 65 to No. 53 on the U.K. albums chart. That title is likewise a former No. 1, as the former One Direction star is incredibly popular and successful in the U.K. to this day.
