Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer, experienced a frightening medical emergency while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, just weeks before his highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul. The incident, which took place on Monday (AEST), has left fans deeply concerned about
Tyson’s health and readiness for the upcoming bout. According to In Touch Weekly, the unsettling episode occurred mid-flight, prompting an urgent response from the crew and paramedics. A source revealed, “Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens.” The situation caused a 25-minute delay in disembarking the plane.
Passengers in first class, where Tyson was seated, witnessed the commotion. One passenger recounted, “He was in first class, but we were in an exit row and the stewardess was very chatty. They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. She said something like, ‘He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK’. I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ‘Mike Tyson’ and she nodded her head yes.”
Despite the medical scare, Tyson’s representatives assured fans that he is “doing great.” In an email to the New York Post, they explained, “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative of the medical staff that were there to help him.” Tyson, who turns 58 next month, is scheduled to fight Jake Paul. The upcoming bout has sparked debates about whether Tyson, at his age, should be stepping back into the ring, especially against a younger opponent like Paul.
Jake Paul quickly responded to the news on social media: “You love to make up stories before knowing the facts for clicks and likes. Nothing changed!” Fans, however, expressed mixed reactions, with some urging the fight to be canceled due to Tyson’s health concerns.
