Travis Browne is known for being married to Ronda Rousey – but he was once a top UFC contender.
The 6ft 7in heavyweight beat MMA legends Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistair Overeem, and Josh Barnett to establish himself as a legitimate title threat before his career fell apart.

‘Hapa’ lost six of his last eight fights in the UFC against the likes of Derrick Lewis, Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum before walking away from the sport for good in 2017.
Seven years later, he’s still fondly remembered for putting on one of the wildest scraps in the history of Dana White’s combat sports promotion
In May 2015, Browne squared off against former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski, who was past his peak and not fancied to beat the 1/5 favourite.
However, he ended up pulling off a stunning upset over Rousey’s partner.
The two men were teammates, but they threw their friendship out the window during a wild one-round fight on the undercard of UFC 187 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Arlovski rolled back the years as he badly wobbled Browne three times in the opening few minutes before the fight settled down at a more manageable pace.
Browne, who shares a daughter with the biggest female legend in MMA history, appeared to be done after being heavily dropped by a spinning backfist.
The American’s legs betrayed him when he got up, but he was still able to get his back to the Octagon fence and fire back with punches.

One landed flush on Arlovski’s chin and turned the tide completely.
Browne tried to swarm him with ground strikes but overextended and allowed his opponent the chance to return to the feet where it quickly became apparent one man was more hurt than the other.
Arlovski swarmed his groggy rival with a series of punches before connecting with a flush uppercut that made Browne turtle up and forced the referee to make a big decision.
Veteran fight official Mark Smith waved off the legendary UFC bout.

The UFC’s official Facebook account recently celebrated the ninth anniversary of Browne vs Arlovski by sharing footage of the fight-ending sequence.
It was captioned: “#OnThisDay in 2015: We witnessed the craziest 60 seconds in UFC history!”
Fans loved being reminded about the carnage the two men delivered at UFC 187.
One person commented: “Crazy fight! Watched it and was screaming like Joe Rogan on the TV Screen.”
Another said: “Legend Arlovski still at it.”
Someone else added: “Browne took a few beatings like this and it literally took years off his career. Only so many bombs a chin can take.”

All these years later, Arlovski is still competing at 45 years old. ‘The Pitbull’ will have his 60th MMA fight on the undercard of Conor McGregor’s comeback event next month.
Besides being involved in a high-profile relationship, Browne remains out of the spotlight and is enjoying his retirement after moving to a farm with Rousey.
Despite being four years younger than Arlovski, he seems to be done with MMA for good.
So fans will have to make do with watching his epic highlight reel.
