The “penis snakes”, similar in shape to human penises, were found in the state of Florida – USA and appear to come from the Amazon River.
The “penis snakes” mentioned above belong to the “Caiecilian” order, with a maximum length of more than 0.8 m. One of the first “penis snakes” found in the US was in a canal in Miami, Florida in November 2019, according to The Sun.
Specifically, when discovering this snake, DNA analysts said that it was the first time the state of Florida in particular and the United States in general discovered “penis snakes”. Authorities in the US fear they may have “settled” in other areas of the US.

“Penis snakes” also known as “precious snakes” are native to Colombia and Venezuela but are found near the Amazon River basin.
They have no legs and their name means “blind”. However, some species may have small eyes hidden under their skin. “Penis snakes” often use tentacles to find food.
Florida State Museum Manager, Coleman Sheehy, said: “Very little is known about these animals in the wild. But they are not dangerous and do not appear to be bloodthirsty predators. They probably eat.” small animals and become food for larger species. They may be just another non-native species in South Florida.”
