Jennifer Lawrence had a bit too much to drink the night before the Golden Globe awards, according to TMZ.
The American Hustle star reportedly ‘got trashed’ at the pre-Globes Sony party held at the Beverly Hills Hotel Saturday evening.
Which makes the 23-year-old’s meandering Best Supporting Actress acceptance speech on Sunday pretty impressive – as in, it could have been much worse.
Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks presented the award to the star, which she got for her part in American Hustle. She was visibly shaky as she took to the podium.
‘I don’t know why it’s so terrifying it’s obviously a good thing! Thank you to my family and my team, thank you so much!’ Jennifer nervously said while accepting the award.
Moments later, however, she explained she didn’t have enough to cocktails. ‘I need to catch up on my drinking,’ she said. ‘I think that’s why I was so manic. I normally have time to have a glass of wine.’
She then backpedaled as she said, ‘That’s not a good answer. Tonight I’m going to celebrate with my friends and family.’
Throughout the evening, Jennifer looked anything but hungover.
The Hunger Games darling displayed her usual free-spirited personality, laughing uproariously with co-stars at her table and enthusiastically cheering on co-star Amy Adams, who also won an award.
Seated between co-star Bradley Cooper and on-again boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer seemed to be having the night of her life.
She did have her goofy moments though.
Her diamond bracelets fell off on the red carpet while she was being interviewed by Ryan Seacrest.
She also made a crazy face as she photo bombed Taylor Swift.
‘I was going to push you down the stairs,’ the actress joked to the singer.
But all was not fun and games for the Kentucky native.
Jennifer, who always wears Dior and is usually spot-on with her red carpet choices, was widely derided for Sunday’s frothy white gown with awkwardly placed black bets at the waist and hips.
Tweeters wasted no time letting her know just how much of a foul her look was by mocking the actress in hilarious selfies.
Actor Colton Haynes took the gag the farthest by perfectly mimicking Jennifer on the carpet, outrageous expression and all.
With a comforter wrapped around his body and nothing but black belts keeping the bedding up, he managed to pull off a very similar Dior look.
His caption read, ‘#Golden Globes were a blast,’ opting to not jab the winner verbally.
A Tweeter who called herself Lana Del Rey also got in on the teasing when she posted photos of her friends dressed up like the Hunger Games star.
Both pals opted for plain white sheets instead of bulkier comforters, but the look still worked.
Lana’s caption read, ‘Omgg my friends sent me photos of them as Jennifer Lawrence too!’
Tweeter Sarah Skar Karlan didn’t bother to take off her maroon T-shirt for her very own J-Law/Dior look.
Instead, she just put the comforter around her clothes, and posed for a selfie. Her caption read, ‘Get that J.Law look.’
Jennifer won’t we resting on her Golden Globes laurels. She’s got plenty of work to keep her busy.
The in-demand actress is shooting her two Hunger Games Mockingjay films opposite Liam Hemsworth at the same time in Georgia.
Also upcoming for her are the films Burial Rites, East of Eden, The Glass Castle, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Serena.
