Sandra Bullock had Harry Connick, Jr. sweating on a plane ride back from a screen test for their 1998 movie Hope Floats when she started unʙuттoning her shirt in front of him.
The smooth singer hitched a lift on Bullock’s private jet back to Los Angeles hours after they auditioned together in Austin, Texas and decided to try to find out if he had a sH๏τ at playing her lover, Justin Matisse, in the film.
Prankster Bullock let him sweat it out a little, revealing there was another guy, “a real cowboy”, who had tested for the role and then things started to get a bit serious.
“We’re almost done with the flight and I couldn’t get any information out of her,” he recalls. “She’s sitting three feet away from me and she starts to kind of unʙuттon her shirt and I’m like, ‘Alright, she’s H๏τ…’ She unʙuттons this ʙuттon by her belt line and then she starts unʙuттoning another ʙuттon and I’m like… I was married and stuff… I’m trying to show her my ring!”
And just when Harry started to think Sandra was “freaky” she opened her shirt and revealed the words “You got the part” written on her stomach.
Bullock was Connick, Jr.’s first guest on his new chat show, which launched in America on Monday, and she confessed she was convinced the “crooner” was all wrong for the role of Justin, but when he walked in for the screen test, she said to herself, “What happened to him?”, adding, “You just embodied everything – and then you started to sing.”
The host concluded the first part of his TV chat by unʙuттoning his shirt and showing off his chest, which had the words: “DEAR SANDY… THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING THE VERY FIRST GUEST ON MY FIRST SHOW. I LOVE YOU” written in black ink.
