On November 3, Jungkook (BTS) released his first solo album “Golden” with the title song “Standing Next To You”.
According to Spotify, on the first day of release, the album achieved a total of 39,653,740 streams on the world’s largest music listening platform Spotify, setting a new record for the largest launch of any music platform. Which Kpop solo album in Spotify history?
All 10 songs in “Golden” also entered the Top 30 of the Spotify Global Top Songs daily chart. Jungkook’s hugely successful lead single “Seven” (featuring Latto) returned to No. 1 with 7,315,213 streams, while new title track “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 2nd place with 6,472,019 streams.
“3D” (featuring Jack Harlow) is at number 7 (4,754,877 streams), followed by the songs “Hate You” at number 16 (3,457,155 streams), “Yes or No” at number 18 ( 3,310,212 streams), “Please Don’t Change” (featuring DJ Snake) position 23 (3,024,882 streams), “Closer to You” (featuring Major Lazer) position 24 (2,960,841 streams), “Somebody” is at number 27 (2,866,592 streams), “Shot Glass of Tears” is at number 28 (2,764,220 streams), and finally “Too Sad To Dance” is at number 29 (2,727,729 streams).
Among the 10 songs by Kpop solo artists with the biggest debuts on Spotify, 6 belong to Jungkook, including the entire first Top 4.

Not only did “Golden” set a record for the biggest debut for an album by a Kpop solo artist, it also surpassed the number of streams on the first day of Blackpink’s most recent album – “Born Pink” (33.16 million streams), and BTS’s album “BE” (36.7 million streams), to rise to No. 2 on the Kpop album chart with the biggest debut in Spotify history, only behind BTS’s album “Prood” (47.56 million streams).
Jungkook is the only Kpop solo artist in the Top 5 Kpop albums with the highest first-day streams on Spofity. “Golden” is also the album with the 9th biggest debut on Spotify globally in 2023, Jungkook is the only Asian artist on the list.
Meanwhile, the album “Golden” sold 2,147,389 copies on the first day of release. Jungkook immediately broke the record for first day and first week album sales of all Kpop solo artists in Hanteo history, with just one day album sales.
On November 5, Jungkook went to America to promote his album “Golden” on the music program IHEARTRADIO.
