These creatures not only have strange appearances but their habits are also very different.

Mother Nature probably still hides many secrets. That’s why many people “fall over” when they see  the creatures below. These are all strange creatures that seem to not belong on this planet.

1. Mexican axolotl

Not from aliens, this unique creature with an extremely cute face is an Axolotl (or Mexican salamander). One of the extremely special abilities of  Axolotl is the ability to regenerate any part of the body such as arms, legs, heart, spinal cord and even the brain.

However, Axolotl is seriously threatened by water pollution due to human urbanization.

2. Mealybugs

Surely you can hardly recognize this as a mealybug. This order of bedbugs has up to 3,000 species and is distributed all over the world.

They live and cause damage in fruit clusters, the underside of leaves and even under the roots. Aphids will suck the sap, causing fruit bunches to wilt, fall prematurely, and create conditions for fungi to grow, blackening fruit skins and leaf surfaces, affecting photosynthesis.

3. Sea anemones

Despite its eye-catching appearance, this sea anemone species often chooses fish and small invertebrates to shoot  paralyzing  substances and then “meat” its prey.

4. Polypore fungus 

At first glance, many people thought the strange object was a normal rock, but no, they were actually Polypore fungi.

Polypore is a type of fungus that grows on both trees and soil – growing fast and not picky about its environment.

5. Brittle sea star ( ophiuroid)

Also known as the snake-tailed starfish, this creature possesses a strange part that resembles 5 snake tails that move together very smoothly. 

Their bodies are radially symmetrical, meaning the body is divided into symmetrical halves by straight lines passing through the arms and central axis. Despite being “split”, the brittle starfish can still move skillfully.

6. “Dwarf fish”

The fish that many researchers associate with dwarfs in fantasy movies is called Lycodes reticulatus – usually living in waters 67 – 600m deep in the North Atlantic Ocean.

7. Sea cucumber (sea cucumber)

With its special appearance, many people will probably think of it as a hideous alien creature. But this is exactly one of 1,150 species of sea cucumbers (sea cucumbers) that exist on this Earth.

Most sea cucumbers are only as small as a hand, but Pacific sea cucumbers can grow up to 2 meters in length, but when touched, they shrink to a very small size.

8.  “Goblin” squid 

This “elf” squid species has the scientific name Promachoteuthis sulcus,  residing at a depth of 2,000m in the South Atlantic Ocean.

They are described as molluscs with round, human-like jaws and curved lips. Tentacles surround the mouth as a warning to anyone who intends to attack them.
